temples, cults and faith

many temples are erected
on graves of human intelligence
giving lip services to humane values
with no concern
for those subjugated

many cults hurt
the wretched poor
removing the very livelihood
of the small like cancerous cell
eating up all with no dirt
left at the corridor

many faiths elude reality well
providing a vision to exploit the little
appeasing conscience
the divine within
fooling self until the final reckoning

cushioning of nests

murmuring i heard coming through windows
not shut in heaven closer to corridors
opened to slums of children!

heaven confused of ambitious preachers
serving prestigious churches in cities
while sanctuaries elsewhere permanently deserted!

generous gifts and atmosphere of apathy
produced by great organ-music so expensive
are signs for pinnacle of worldly success!

costly stained glass windows permit not
into sanctuary rays of light from slums
and the loud grief and cries of children!

supply station has been transformed by the rich
and their angelic allies into the place of refuge
with no errands except cushioning of nests!

hypocrisy

honey was dripping from food he served

in an elegant golden plate shone, in

his hands, ornamented with gold, while his

mouth, with no stop, dropped words of sweet talk

knives many, invisible and very sharp

in that banquet hall spread all over

his eyes fixed on target to stab, while

heart contemplated that one murder

misappropriation

misappropriating the language
of love, i have seen many acting keen
the life of lust doing much damage
for themselves like that honey bee, drone

temple cat too does not hesitate
to embezzle the sacred idiom
much freely, more than a crafty priest
thinking they are in heavenly room

hypocrisy he hates more than denial
intentions he inspects in the heart
being true to ourselves is that full
what heaven above from us expect
