prowling always

Satan, i observed, working hard

day and night establishing influence;

he is there when warmly welcomed

or deliberately denounced!

Satan, i see, likes all forms of attention

no matter whether it comes dressed

in negativity, a sense of rejection

or in a form of positive appreciation

Satan is like that puppy

never taking my ‘no’

as my genuine answer

to leave me alone!

easter lily

the easter lily in my home

has dropped her drooping flowers

but i have decided not to deposit

lily with no flowers in the dump

for i realize, i can never do so

without me, into dump, damning

self, first; for that easter lily

that fashioned the fleeting flower

is not, merely, ephemeral

but, in essence, eternal

in the creator’s mind, a mercy

and for me, a miracle

brevity

in another three weeks

summer will be spent

providing space for fall

and soon it would be winter

forcing me to shut shutters

announcing me that secret:

brisk and brief is beauty

and bidding me to enjoy

lightning in lightning speed
