taking stock

when pain pinches

my feeble heart
that struggles to pump blood
to keep my other organs well

as my tamil mother
continuously cooked to feed
the many members in my home

i prefer to stop my walking

as she stopped, but only
for a moment, that i may take stock
and replenish my stockpile
to continue my journey

that may continue, or end
not with my counsel
but entirely at his will

silently walking with, or sitting
beside me, struggling

to recollect his absent presence

Lord of Pots and Pans

Lord of my pots and pans
As much as you dwell in heaven
You also inhabit my kitchen
Which I like to keep it clean
And holy by my remembrance
Of your constant providence!

Even as I busy my self
In getting meals ready
And washing up the plates
Make me a saint who delights
In nothing but your presence!

slow me down

million thoughts pass
through my mortal mind
including one that analyses
the veracity of calculation

i sit helplessly while cells
in brain spin like a wheel
with no brakes to bring stop
or, at least, slow it down

hence, i turn to you
the source of all speed
and no haste in pace
to induce in me calm

lead me to the silent planet
that stores no fret nor carries fear
transform my wits to that of a bear
who knows the smart art to hibernate
