sun in midnight

i am with me
alone
my tea-candle lit
gently wavering

silence set in
except that buzzing
in my furnace and an oozing
of a little noise
in my laptop, my qur’an
reminding, the working
is perfectly well

peace, yes
no peace, yes
that beyond is mine
my current quest

understanding, yes
not understanding, yes
that beyond is mine
my present food gathering

emptying
that self-emptying
that self esteem
found in jesus
walking to his tree
lifted high, higher than
all social ladder
could lift my soul
i need to climb

if possible
before my sleep
with no dream
and to cover no blanket
wool, cotton or that
synthetic

most ticks
those that itched
my mind and body
earlier
have left me
looking for and searching
other dogs
leaving me to heal
scars they left
on the skin of my soul

i sit alone contemplating
that balm that removes
strain
and stain on my spirit

will i find or not
matter very little to me now
but i am looking
with that midnight
sun
that, and that matter most

Jesus Lizard

Like Jesus lizard walking on water
I sail swiftly in my tiny boat
In this wide ocean, the vast world with dozen conflicts
Within that ever expanding endless cosmos
With me are two companions
Trusting my wisdom and strength

I, in my voyage, pass the burial ground of dinosaurs
Colossal and robust creatures
Those mortals of millions of years before
To live luxuriously dined on much morsel, leaving at end only a fossil
I stop here silently to meditate on my momentous mortality
My pretensions of immortality welded well with my ego

My team that I tug trusts totally
The speed I determine for my craft, a pace that’s too cowardly
To recess to reflect under carpet, dirt and depth below
Lest vessel with squad sink into that deep ludicrous absurdity
Of half-truth, uninformed opinion, prejudice of every kind
Superficial love, charity not spiced with justice, and much more

slow me down

million thoughts pass
through my mortal mind
including one that analyses
the veracity of calculation

i sit helplessly while cells
in brain spin like a wheel
with no brakes to bring stop
or, at least, slow it down

hence, i turn to you
the source of all speed
and no haste in pace
to induce in me calm

lead me to the silent planet
that stores no fret nor carries fear
transform my wits to that of a bear
who knows the smart art to hibernate
