melting glaciers

two little glaciers
on my neighbour’s roof
receding, melting
to create little streams

that waters
my neighbour’s lawn
soon, i know
there will be green

hardness
and stubborn cold
will be no more
in my heart

reappearance of variety

sparrows bathe in front of my home

announcing the arrival of spring

i pulled to roll my curtain on pane

letting in joy birds bring into my hut

the absence of varied colours around

earlier made body shiver and freeze

so i closed all cold and social increase

with it i shut out light with my blind

now with the reappearance of variety

in shade and shape, the extra energizing

i receive for my path and my dancing

locking up tightly the monotony of winter

hope in change

change is at my door step
i must welcome her
old lady who occupied my main floor
is leaving my home

i must let her go
with her there in my upstairs
was much whining
and i had no time

to relax, or
take care of my sugar level
and my old dreams were
frequently nightmarish

while my sleep was shallow
and my stomach half empty
making me a dog
walking with no purpose

change is likely to clean up
mess the old woman left behind
scrubbing floor and countertops
before thinking of a new menu

and a new venue
for dancing and singing
driving further away my baggage
burden of bygone days and nights

winter is great

i thank you for winter
that hides your flower
and with it all colors

i thank you for summer
that reveals your flower
and with it varied colors

i thank you for seasons
that, for sure, makes me value
flowers and colors fill my heart

floods and sludge

cooking food, cleaning pots, pans, plates
and other cutleries surged, overflowed
like a spring river in my May days
and nights with no pause even to evaluate

either their relevance, or the quality of my life
that now carried floods and sludge with speed
though i, like brother Lawrence, the sage
applied my heart and soul working to bleed

without counting cost but rejoicing
in my washing feet cracked and dirty
a relevant, realistic imitation of Jesus
than that ritual on Maundy Thursdays

that made only my ego bloat year by year
but neither the present work with great love
satisfies my inner person whose still small voice
i hear not very clearly to change my path
