in academia among assess

that carry heavy books

in ecclesia among foxes

that carry a single book

and also in malls

in the absence of relevance

referring to books

i march to a different beat

suffering pain

with loss of gain

and pushed out of circle

until much later i stumble

alone, and stride

re-coiling

and re-circling

putting me back

into the loop

in the company of Copernicus

Jan Hus, and that ‘us’

the single most catalyst

to save multitude of ‘them’

otherwise thrown out

from that distinct sphere

marching to a different beat

and walk towards the cup of poison

to be served as a reward

and towards that crown of thorns

to be worn

but naked

as i march forward

towards a contemporary cross

to be condemned

night dreams

my mind is omnipresent god

neither sleeping, nor slumbering

not even in the coldest night

painting dreams, thinking thought

and constructing poems

forever with vivid images

simple symbols and newer metaphors

rooted in my cultural existence

imitating the cougar

help me imitate the patient placidness

and the love that let goes

inbuilt in psyche controlling the strong

the swift, and the slender mother cougar

let the same permeate my mind and nerves

pervading my life even as i prepare

my only daughter for her life ahead

knowing, at the end i cannot live

my daughter’s life!

help me, then, learn my lessons

well from the truly self-governing

sage of the jungle: the cougar!

not normal

if not to look at a floating cloud on the sky

or the face of the water in the river
flowing both within and around me
can be considered a normal human

then, sure, i am abnormal to be shunned

and, soon, taken in for incarceration
in that asylum as incapable of living
a normal life except to sign my last will

while the river with all the uploaded urban

sewage flood into the ocean to poison
maim and soon kill the source of cloud
and the living dead enthroned as normal
