more attention!

i saw myself this morning
in every nook and corner
excusing my daughter
for her little age

her youth
apologizing three times
‘oh, she is only a puppy’
as i encountered the senior

exercising with Woofy
a cairn terrier
very undisciplined, unruly
following other dogs

on the walking trail
pleading for more patting
considering other walkers
as her faithful master

needing
more
attention
but not mine

my walk in the wilderness

gurus, greatness guides, golden rules
the celestine prophecy, the secret
and the source of bubbling springs
these were my delights

while walking the wilderness
with the monk who sold his Ferrari
during my days of depression
learning soon, feeling wellness

leads to seeing wellness
transforming my bone and skin
into an untainted wellness
implanting deep within my soul

another spring of wellness
from where waves and waves of love
reaches the shores of many men
women and children in pain!

conquering the insubstantial

i remember well: i was not even ten
and my brother in teen
you taught me to beat the devil
conquering the insubstantial
as we walked in the dark
where non-stop the dogs bark!

now i take rest in the thought:
to come out too late, i ought
not, lest my daughter fear the devil
when one, for sure, she finds
in this land where two are absent:
dogs that bark
and nights that are dark

flight of hatchling

my life is like that of an eagle

taking care of her newly born chick

feeding in nest on top of the hill

away from all human habitation

i also carry mine to the mountain

to push her down to build that lasting

courage to enhance the flying skill

beyond boundaries of human limit

when hatchling knows her own to wing

and dive deep down into valley below

i will free self to soar high until

i’m lost above the drifting, dim cloud

made-able

he is tall, and taller than me

fairer too, with a fatter purse

an allowance monthly, three

times mine, yet walking behind me

or alone, like a homeless beggar

about to fall on the road, hence

needing a stronger prop;

despite the schooling, the bigger

expense paid in full by the state

still he can neither count beans

nor make sense of the weed and wheat

in what he reads there on the slate

he can, for sure, see a dime on ground

even thirty feet ahead of him

but a sparrow on the fence front of him

always is black and will never be found

numbers dead and weapons of the world

war two, for sure, he knows it well, exact

facts and with assertive faith will proclaim

it too, but his potentials are a different world
