stopping by an unkempt lawn

the train journey was long!
the whole night it did prolong
but i was down, from train, by dawn
beside an unkempt lawn

neither my family nor me
knew why we got off at such a wee
hour of the day when destination
had not arrived; nor was this a station

for a train to stop! but white bunnies
two that drew my immediate notice
and at the end, i happened to learn
that these two, the only i did yearn

not to own did i, with folks, stop here
but with spouse and spawn to care!
my destiny did pass through this land
this lonely prairie property so grand

someone content with their lot of no gain
earlier, too had stopped to touch the pain
the wounds of these helpless creatures
and it is my turn now to love the bunnies

subtle presence

you remain hidden despite your omnipresence
and contain in ‘restrain’ your omnipotence
demanding from me a restrain from my revenge
even when i am pushed to the edge, the hedge

i, hence, now turn inward into my heart
to mend it to fill it with the gift
you offer your world, an unrestrained love
the magic wand to heal and to store in my cave

that single most miraculous power,
except when i am dictated by my pride,
works well in mending all that is wrecked
intentionally, or directed into by ignorance

i know my mind needs time to absorb this fact
and my body requires another set of days to act
until my spirit is filled with this charitable habit
and fragrance in my soul is nothing but this state

praying a psalm

my awareness of your presence on earth
is more important than owning  my breath!
your subtle existence despite my denials
critically breathe purpose to the cosmos!

in this broken world your face
further gets distorted by chants
of your name arising from tongues
denying space for your silence!

as i survey the skies in the night
the working of your invisible fingers
the moon, the planets and the stars
established beyond the human cities

when i see the seas, the dreaming in your heart
and the massive whales haunted by human trickery
as i consider the jungles, a vision of your mind
and the enormous elephants hunted by manly greed

i see my smallness and pause to look up for help
to break barriers that create inequality among
the diverse beings with their multiple creeds
caring and healing all beasts, birds and fish

but who am i that you should stop
to listen to my pleadings, my helplessness
i know, for sure, you care for me, your created
being to do your peace, piece together your beauty
