Saskatchewan River

i went by the Saskatchewan River
my new guru and an untiring comforter
this time, just to thank her
for the previous day’s lesson, my only offer

also for the quarter, much bigger
rise from the usual nickel
she gave me as i beat the trickles
of the spring rain, to explore her

further change for my soul
now hardened like a range of mountains
evolved through a long time
difficult to get rid of like the lime

deposited inside my kettle
that boils water
a generous gift
of the Saskatchewan River

walk the path of Jesus

i have halted my hoping
for your encouragement
and you sustaining my work
of justice and reconciliation

and i expect not you
the patron of the patronizing
rich and the insensitive pretenders
to keep my vision alive

for i am brutally betrayed
by the same kiss of Judas, the pan handler
and cautiously rejected
by the chief priests and caesars of today

and thereafter cruelly crucified
by the sadistic fun loving masses
but will i not continue in the same path
of that crucified Jesus of Nazareth

friend i seek

i need your friendship

more now, than before;

i feel my aloneness

and the much i have lost

without a companion to chat

to receive a timely counsel!

those around me are too busy

and carry their own grief;

when not busy, or not burdened

with woes, often they are fake!

be not far away; speak loud

to me, and clear, that i may hear!

psalm 151

my pleadings like smoke
came to you and you listened
my prayers like fog
were before you, and me, you assisted

my days now stay strong
like rocks of Rockies
my nights are peaceful
like lakes in mountains

my heart leaps with joy
like a dancing deer
my plate is full
with extravagant bread

my bones are strong
like the Indian iron wood
my past wrongs you blotted

all out of my sight

i now soar high, and higher
like an eagle in flight
i sit with poise like a king
on throne with no guards around

i sleep like a log

the whole night in my bed
i am busy like a bee
the whole day collecting food

in the day of my anguish
you hid not your face
in my distress i called you
and you speedily responded

posied to live

lion stalking for that running gazelle

leopard living for throat of a zebra

heron motionless at the edge of the pool

with quick beak prepared, poised to kill

hawk with deadly talons held closer

to heart, watching in the grass below

a large enough target to a quick plunge

and equipped to hold, poised to kill

surrounded by impulses for violence

i wonder whether i should simply

surrender to that principle: nothing

lives unless something is poised to die

battles beautiful

i saw sparrows fighting their own sort

though hurting it was so beautiful

after a quick clash they all flew away

leaving battleground unhurt and intact

i saw dogs fighting their own genus

though hurting it was so beautiful

after a bigger brawl they ran away

leaving battleground for a safe use

i saw stupid humans fight their kind

and it was indeed so dreadfully ugly

after fight they still lingered to exploit

leaving bloody, bleeding battle ground

tomb to kill

dissimilar views he doesn’t handle well
clashing openly like dogs of two kinds
with any who do not hold his outlook
ending in two camps that never assemble

similar visions also don’t go too well
for the like poles oppose one another
as women cutting throat of each other
never leaving space for an additional

single self, survives not on surface
drowning in water too deep
and in no account shows its face
making the very self a tomb to kill

soaked in silence

she is either deaf

to hear that loud pulse

caused by my faltering heart

or, is extremely venomous

to sting with a single word

‘drama’, that made me dumb

to speak another word

like a father to daughter

but grace from above

or, from deep within

made me enjoy with ease

that silence above clouds

floating to and fro

aimlessly as a bitch in heat

while stillness from beyond

filled my heart with peace

shifting my space

in days of my blindness
recompensed by rare pleasure
and fueled by ever-growing lust
i went into eventful spaces
occupied by men and women
with desire
and living for delight

but in these days of illumination
rewarded by a recurrent poise
and encouraged by an evolving
hermit within
i go now into empty spaces
not occupied
by deaf and blind creatures
dumb to transmit
the sacred within

purpose and Peace

i stand before you with wants
not unknown to you though my need
the deepest, is to blend with your will
where i will find my purpose and Peace

this will make me stand apart
from all blending too quickly happens
the greatest temptation for men and women
serving an Aaronic altar wearing a Mosaic mask

they choose  the least resistant path
providing the masses peace, an absence
of conflicts, an added music for dance
and above all the idol, a golden calf

assist me to take the risk, that discomfort
of sailing in turbulent waters wearing a garb
of nonconformity, adding an extra disquiet
for a journey into your being lacking a handle

i am envious

i realize i am almost, always, envious
of those who get away with all their wrongs
and i keep complaining about the flourishing
of the evildoers, forever scheming
and making no authentic reference to you!

i pray that you will teach me to delight
in nothing but in your sheer presence
bringing home your providence
the form and content i cannot dictate!

help me to be content with your will
that i may restrain my stubborn will
revolting against yours, insisting on my requests
that require not for my greater well being
known not at this flash before a further becoming!

fill my heart with peace that passes all perceptions
too human, too momentary, even if it is soreness
to my present mind incapable of weighing with care
the real gold from that which only glitters!

praying a psalm

my awareness of your presence on earth
is more important than owning  my breath!
your subtle existence despite my denials
critically breathe purpose to the cosmos!

in this broken world your face
further gets distorted by chants
of your name arising from tongues
denying space for your silence!

as i survey the skies in the night
the working of your invisible fingers
the moon, the planets and the stars
established beyond the human cities

when i see the seas, the dreaming in your heart
and the massive whales haunted by human trickery
as i consider the jungles, a vision of your mind
and the enormous elephants hunted by manly greed

i see my smallness and pause to look up for help
to break barriers that create inequality among
the diverse beings with their multiple creeds
caring and healing all beasts, birds and fish

but who am i that you should stop
to listen to my pleadings, my helplessness
i know, for sure, you care for me, your created
being to do your peace, piece together your beauty
