hesitation

i sense within my heart
the lingering fear
of hearing unfavourable comments
and feeling shame of becoming a loser
ending
like a tortoise
in a state of withdrawal

though well protected
but with no progress
towards my goal
a prospect

or that path that may contain
encounters
with vultures
but
much joy at the end
with lots of applause

stoning and snowball throwing

i fled in fear from fellows
who felt might is right
and lost no time
implementing what they considered
exact and precisely accurate

hunting down
and stoning prophets
following their precursors
hesitating not
opposed and maligned Amos
Hosea, Jeremiah, and John the Baptist

now i sit, silently
with more hurt
and no further energy to sprint
among masses with language of right
tinged with democracy
spending moment after moment
networking with similar color
class, creed, similar speech
and a malevolent ‘hi’
with a filthy smile
while dodging liberties
of alternate voices and vision

these enemies
of modern day prophets
playfully fling snowballs
on heralds of peace
more painful
than the earlier stoning

i submit

gentle breeze; can be
windy, rarely cyclonic
i watch and submit

being in love

my love for you, utterly, embraced

the total you, including the new life

bulging, but silently, inside your belly

and ear-rings, your protesting my style!

my love for you bent mine straight

into your heart with a mesmerising energy

submitting mine to your diction, a dictating

i blindly delighted, as if you are my mother!

my love for you painlessly twists my arm

that i neither dream nor truly pack my baggage

to leave my old home, or go out to look

for a spouse, a re-placement for a lost love!

age to come

i like Jesus

and later Rumi

Nietzsche and Vincent Van Gogh

belong not to this age

but for the one to come

and if this world

rejects me

am i surprised
