a colony of bats

masses, very quickly, surrounded me

to see what i would declare

now that i have a legal dispensation

a privilege

bestowed only on a foreigner

they nearly pushed me

though unintentionally

they made me drop

one by one

the big and small item

i carefully carried

into that pit

and as i bend down

to reach the bottom

picking cautiously my scattered stuff

the masses

almost buried me

standing up-side down

like a colony of bats in a cave

i held as the essence of a poem

rhythm

a music, i added to my lines

images and metaphor

spices, i sprinkled over

a song sweet

i hoped, would emerge

my ugly face

i saw like a broken vase

discerning in my art

my derelict self

before i come of age

i look for a paper

and a publisher

now to boost my visage

return from the banquet hall

every time i walk into a banquet hall

joining a company of female

and male celebrating the gifts of life

i return with a heavy heart

and a load preventing my sleep

blocking also my speedy dream

superficiality like shallow water

in the river of civility

and hypocrisy, the dark backwater

of learned bunch

smart inside my heart

also affecting my wit

like the way my gut

suffers after i have eaten

tasty food wherein black pepper

powder is sprayed in excess

in diet served as banquet food

sandwiched between the jagged immortality

and the feeble mortality

i carry within me the great sea

with her pounding waves

on its sandy soil

are scattered shinning shells

where even a silent shrimp

find a safe home

in surrounds of rocky reeves

while elsewhere

with those changing seasons

including the fallen leaves

and broken branches

the abandoned agricultural implements

witness the deer carcass

protected by a coniferous forest
